For the Cookie Bars:
- 1 cup (2 sticks) salted butter, softened
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 5 cups all-purpose flour
- ½ teaspoon table salt
- ½ teaspoon baking soda
For the Cream Cheese Frosting:
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, softened
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- ½ teaspoon almond extract
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
- 4 cups powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons heavy cream
- food coloring & sprinkles (if desired, optional)
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a 12″x17″ or 13″x18″ cookie sheet.
- Cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in eggs one at a time, then add vanilla.
- In a separate bowl, combine flour, salt, and baking soda. Add to the wet mixture and mix until just combined. Spread onto prepared cookie sheet.
- Bake for 13-16 minutes, until edges are lightly golden. Cool completely.
- For the Frosting:
- Blend butter and cream cheese until smooth. Add extracts and mix.
- Gradually add powdered sugar and cream, blending until smooth. Spread over cooled cookie bars.

- You can customize these bars with different colors of frosting and sprinkles for various occasions.
