Cookies:

  • 1 teaspoon baking powder

Icing:

  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 34 tablespoons whole milk
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/8 teaspoon almond extract

Instructions

  1. To make sugar cookies – In a large bowl, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add egg and extracts. Mix in flour and baking powder until dough forms.
  2. Divide and roll out dough – Divide dough, roll out into circles, cut out cookies, and place on a lined cookie sheet. Freeze for 15-30 minutes.
  3. Bake the cookies – Preheat oven to 350°F. Bake cookies for 8-11 minutes until edges are lightly golden. Cool on a rack.
