  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour (stirred, spooned, & leveled)
  • ¼ cup cocoa powder
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ cup milk
  • ⅓ cup butter, melted
  • 1 ½ tsp vanilla extract

Fudge Sauce:

  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup brown sugar, gently packed
  • ¼ cup cocoa powder
  • 1 ¼ cups HOT water

Instructions

  1. Preheat: Heat oven to 350°F. Grease a 9-inch square or 2-quart round baking dish.
  2. Mix Cake: Whisk sugar, flour, cocoa, baking powder, and salt. Add milk, melted butter, and vanilla. Spread in pan.
  3. Prepare Sauce: Combine sugars and cocoa. Sprinkle over batter. Pour hot water over; do not stir.
  4. Bake: Bake for 35-40 minutes until almost set. Rest for 15 minutes. Serve warm with ice cream.
