Ingredients

Scale

Crust

  • 1 refrigerated tube of pizza crust

Filling

  • 6 Tablespoons of pasta sauce
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • Approximately 12 pepperoni slices

Optional

  • Sprinkle of dried oregano leaves
  • Small amount of oil for brushing

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) to ensure it reaches the ideal temperature for baking golden, crispy pizza pockets.
  2. Prepare Crust: Open the refrigerated tube of pizza crust and carefully roll it flat on a piece of parchment paper or a floured surface for easy handling and cutting.
  3. Cut Crust: Cut the rolled-out pizza crust into 6 equal squares, which will become the base for each pizza pocket.
  4. Add Filling: On half of each square, spoon about 1 tablespoon of pasta sauce, sprinkle a generous amount of shredded mozzarella cheese, and add 2 slices of pepperoni for that classic pizza flavor.
  5. Fold & Seal: Fold each square over diagonally to form a triangle. Firmly press the edges with a fork to seal and prevent the filling from leaking during baking.
  6. Optional Seasoning: Brush the tops of the pockets lightly with oil for a golden finish and sprinkle dried oregano leaves for extra flavor if desired.
  7. Bake: Place the pizza pockets on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake at 425°F for 10 to 13 minutes, or until they are puffed up and golden brown.
  8. Serve: Remove from oven and serve warm, optionally with a small bowl of extra pasta sauce for dipping.

Notes

  • You can customize fillings by adding vegetables like bell peppers or mushrooms for a veggie option.
  • Ensure the edges are well sealed to avoid any sauce leaking during baking.
  • Use freshly shredded cheese for better melting performance.
  • Allow the pockets to cool slightly before eating to avoid burns from hot filling.
  • These can be made ahead and baked just before serving for convenience.
