Hamburger Steaks
- 1.3 pounds ground beef
- 4 tbsp breadcrumbs
- 1 yellow onion (grated)
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 2 tbsp heavy cream
- 1 egg
Creamy Dill Sauce
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1 yellow onion (diced)
- 2 garlic cloves (minced)
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- ½ cup low sodium chicken broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 2 tbsp chopped dill (more for serving)
- Prepping: Start with making the hamburger steaks. Grate the onion into a large bowl. Add ground beef, breadcrumbs, salt, pepper, cream, and egg. Mix until just combined. Shape into 4 patties and set aside.
- Chopping: Finely chop the onion, mince the garlic, and chop the dill.
- Searing: Heat oil and butter in a skillet. Cook hamburger steaks for 4-5 minutes per side. Transfer to a plate.
- Cooking: Cook garlic and onion until fragrant. Add salt, pepper, flour, and broth. Simmer for 2 minutes.
- Simmering: Add cream and dill, simmer until thickened. Return steaks to the skillet, simmer until cooked through. Serve hot with dill and pepper.
