Pie Crust:
Filling:
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 3 lbs (about 7 cups) tart, green apples, such as Granny Smith
- 1 cup (198g) sugar + 2 tbsp (25g), divided
- 1/4 cup (30g) all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp cloves
- 3/4 tsp salt
- 1 cup (8oz/ 236ml) heavy cream
- 1 tbsp pure vanilla extract
- Prepare the Pie Crust: Roll out the pie crust and fit it inside a pie plate, shaping the edges. Refrigerate until ready to use.
- Preheat the Oven: Heat the oven to 450°F (232°C).
- Prepare the Apples: Toss sliced apples with lemon juice to prevent browning. Combine sugar, flour, cinnamon, cloves, and salt, then coat the apples with the mixture.
- Fill the Pie: Place coated apples in the pie crust, then pour the cream mixed with vanilla over them. Sprinkle with remaining sugar.
