Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 1 pack instant ramen noodles
  • 2 cups water
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon cream cheese or grated cheese (optional)
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon chopped green onions
  • 1 teaspoon toasted sesame seeds
  • 1 sheet nori or seaweed flakes (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook the Egg: Bring a small pot of water to a boil. Carefully lower in the egg and cook for 6–7 minutes for a soft-boiled center. Transfer the egg to an ice bath to cool, then peel and cut in half.
  2. Cook Ramen Noodles: In a medium saucepan, bring 2 cups of water to a boil. Add the instant ramen noodles and cook for 2–3 minutes until just tender, being careful not to overcook.
  3. Add Seasonings and Butter: Reduce the heat to low. Stir in the unsalted butter, soy sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, and seasoning packet if using. Mix gently to combine all flavors evenly.
  4. Create Creamy Broth: Slowly pour in the whole milk while simmering on low heat for 1–2 minutes. Add cream cheese or shredded cheese if desired, stirring until the cheese has melted and the broth is smooth and creamy.
  5. Assemble and Garnish: Transfer the creamy ramen and broth to a serving bowl. Top with the halved soft-boiled egg, chopped green onions, toasted sesame seeds, and nori or seaweed flakes if using.
  6. Serve: Enjoy your warm and creamy ramen immediately for the best flavor and texture.

Notes

  • Do not overcook the egg to maintain a soft, creamy yolk.
  • Adjust soy sauce and seasoning packet based on salt preference.
  • Cream cheese is optional but adds extra richness and creaminess.
  • For a vegetarian version, omit the egg and use vegetarian-friendly seasoning packets.
  • Feel free to add any additional toppings like sliced mushrooms or spinach for variation.
